Atlantic Hockey Tournament

The Seventh Annual Atlantic Hockey Association Championship Tournament format will be the same for the second year in a row, as the tournament will be contested on three straight weekends.  The First Round will be a one-game series with the 7th and 8th seeds hosting the 10th and 9th seeds, repspectively on Saturday, March 6.  The following weekend will be a best two-out-of-three quarterfinal series with the top four seeds hosting.  The Semifinals will be on Friday, March 19 with the Championship contest being played on Saturday, March 20.  Last season, the associations Air Force made it three Atlantic Hockey Tournament Championships in a row, as the Falcons defeated Mercyhurst, 2-0.  Air Force traveled to Bridgeport, Conn. to compete in the NCAA East Regional to face top-seed Michigan.  The Falcons upset the Wolverines, 2-0, for Air Force's first ever NCAA Tournament victory and the second overall for Atlantic Hockey.  The next night the Falcons were eliminated by third seed, Vermont, 3-2 in double overtime.

The eventual Atlantic Hockey champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
