      <title>Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team Announced</title>

      <description>WAKEFIELD, Mass. -- The most successful season on the ice for the student-athletes of the Atlantic Hockey Association now transfers over to the classroom.  This year 101 student-athletes make up the third edition of the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team for the 2005-06 academic year, with 31 student-athletes making their third appearance on the squad.&#xD;
&#xD;
Canisius junior netminder Max Buetow (pictured right) earned the Atlantic Hockey Top Scholar-Athlete Award, posting a perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA).  Buetow, a native of Denver, Colo., majors in English at Canisius, and made 14 appearances in net for the Griffs'.  Buetow becomes the second netminder to collect the Top Scholar-Athlete Award while posting a 4.0 GPA.</description>

      <title>Richard Bedard Named AIC Director Of Athletics</title>

      <description>SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Richard F. Bedard of East Longmeadow, Mass. has been named Director of Athletics at American International College, taking over for Robert E. Burke, who recently retired after 20 years in the post. Bedard, no stranger to AIC or athletics has served in several positions at the college since 1973. He is currently the executive vice president of administration and will remain in that position.  Bedard becomes just the sixth athletic director at AIC in the last 59 years.&#xD;
&#xD;
            Bedard said he is excited about returning to AIC athletics. "Bob Burke has done a great job in guiding the program for over 20 years. He has earned the respect of everyone in college athletics. But we still have great challenges ahead of us."</description>

"When you have a successful program, the coach always receives a great deal of the credit but we believe that Coach Pearl deserves an extraordinary amount of credit for the recent success of our men's ice hockey program."</description>

      <title>AIC Director Of Athletics Robert Burke Announces Retirement</title>

      <description>SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 19, 2006) - Robert E. Burke, Director of Athletics at American International College since 1986, has announced his retirement from the College effective at the end of the current academic year, May 31, 2006.  Burke's retirement from AIC ends a 38-year association with the College's athletic department.  The announcement was made at a press conference Wednesday morning.&#xD;
&#xD;
            Burke's time at the College began in 1968 when he was hired as an assistant football coach under Gayton Salvucci after a stint as the head football coach at Springfield's Cathedral High School.  He was named head coach of the Yellow Jackets in 1976 and compiled a record of 36-28-2 over seven seasons, including a record of 8-2 in 1980.</description>

      <description>Junior Jamie Hunt will forgo his senior year at Mercyhurst, signing a two-year contract with the Washington Capitals.  Hunt becomes the first Atlantic Hockey Association player to jump right from the college ranks to the NHL.  Jamie will be joining the Capitals today after finishing a three-year career with the Lakers.  Hunt led all Division I defensemen with 1.36 points per game scoring (45 points in 33 games).  He scored 12 goals and added 33 assists for fourth on the scoring list this season for Mercyhurst.  Over his career, Hunt scored 21 goals and added 63 assists for 84 points.</description>

Named the Atlantic Hockey Association Player of the Year, McGregor had his best year as a Crusader as he led the team in goals (26) and points (54), while he was tied for second in assists (28). His .68 goals per game rank him sixth in the country, while his 1.42 points per game is seventh nationally. McGregor's 13 power play goals this season tied the school record and are fifth in the nation. He concluded his Holy Cross career with 70 goals and 67 assists for 137 points in 143 games. McGregor is tied for 15th all-time at Holy Cross in points and is second in games played.</description>
