Ryan Lessnau - Bentley

Senior, Forward, Southfield, Mich.

Senior forward had a four point weekend (2 goals, two assists) as Bentley split with Robert Morris ... he tied his career-high with three points in Bentley’s 3-2 win over Robert Morris on Friday night. He notched assists on the first two goals and then scored the eventual game winner. The following night he scored one of Bentley’s two goals. Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Week

Tony Quesada - Holy Cross

Senior, South Freeport, Maine

Quesada made 22 saves in the Crusaders’ 3-2 season opening win over Massachusetts on Friday night.

Kai Magnussen - Holy Cross

Freshman, Forward, Okotoks, ALB

Magnussen scored the game-winning goal with 2:17 left in the third period in the Crusaders’ 3-2 win over Massachusetts on Friday night, for his first collegiate goal.

Weekly Honor Roll

Ryan Hatch (Fr, G, Medway, Mass.) - In his first collegiate start stopped 24 of 25 shots en route to a 2-1 Canisius win at R.I.T. Hatch currently has a .960 save percentage and 1.00 goals against average.

Jaymie Harrington (Jr, F, West Boylston, Mass.) - Harrington took one shot against R.I.T. Oct. 22 and it proved to be the game-winning goal. Harrington scored 5:12 into the third period to give Canisius the 2-1 road win.

Chris Myhro (Fr, F, Eden Prairie, Minn.) - Myhro has scored three goals in the last three games of the Husky season. This past weekend, Myhro scored a goal in each of Connecticut’s games against Merrimack. In the first game of the series on Friday night, Myhro scored the lone goal of the evening for the Huskies on a power play. On Saturday, Myhro scored the first goal of the night for the Huskies that would tie the score at 1-1. Connecticut would go on to win the game, 2-1 for their first win of the season.

Rob Godfrey (Jr, D, Thunder Bay, ONT) - Godfrey recorded a goal and an assist in the Crusaders’ 3-2 victory over Massachusetts on Friday night. He tied the game at 2-2 with 3:25 remaining in the third period when he scored his second goal of his career. He then assisted in the game-winning goal with 2:17 left.

Team Notes

American International: Junior Ryan Robin (Prince Albert, Sask.) totaled a goal and an assist in the season-opener Friday night against Quinnipiac game, his first game since 2003-04 after missing the second half of that season and all of last year with a back injury.

Army: Army dropped both of its contests this weekend against ECACHL opponents Colgate and RPI...Brad Roberts made 20 saves in the loss to RPI on Sunday afternoon in Troy, N.Y...Reserve goalie A.J. Drago relieved Roberts midway through the second period against Colgate on Friday night and did not allow a goal in 29:40 of action. He registered 15 saves in his collegiate debut...The Black Knights’ loss at RPI was the first of a five-game road trip and a stretch that will see them play 9 of their next 11 contests away from West Point.

Bentley: This weekend was the first time that Bentley has hosted Robert Morris, the teams played a pair of games at RMU last season ... This weekend Bentley plays Union for only the second time in the program’s history on Friday and will play Colgate for the first time on Saturday. The Falcons will be looking for their first ever win over an ECAC team in those games ... Bentley killed off the first 26 power play opportunities this season, before allowing a power play goal in the third period of Friday’s 3-2 win over Robert Morris. The Falcons have now allowed power play goals on seven of the last nine situations, including all five goals in the 5-2 loss to Robert Morris on Saturday ... Ryan Lessnau notched his 50th career point on Friday with the game winning goal midway through the third period.

Canisius: Canisius College and the Rochester Institute of Technology played this weekend for the first time since the 1997-98 season, the last season Canisius was at the Division III level...The win for the Griffs broke the Tigers’ 11-match unbeaten streak against Canisius. It gave the Blue and Gold their first win at Rochester since Feb. 2, 1994 and was only their third victory in 25 meetings at Rochester...With Saturday’s win, Canisius has won its first two road games for the first time since the 1992-93 season when the Griffs started that season with four consecutive victories...Sophomore defenseman Scott Follett recorded the first point of his career with an assist on Jaymie Harrington’s game-winning goal Saturday night. Harrington’s goal was his first since the 2003-04 season after missing the 2004-05 season due to injury. Senior forward Chris Angelo scored his second goal of the season on Oct. 21 after scoring three goals during last season.

Connecticut: Saturday night’s game was the first time that the Huskies defeated Merrimack since the series began in 1960-61. The Huskies are now 1-19-0 against the Warriors. This is the second time in program history that Connecticut defeated a Hockey East team.

Holy Cross: The 3-2 win over Massachusetts on Friday night marked the first time that Holy Cross has defeated a member of Hockey East since defeating Massachusetts, 3-2 in overtime, on January 31, 1995, in Worcester...Freshman Kai Magnussen’s first collegiate goal was the game-winner Friday night, with 2:17 left in the third period...Junior defenseman Rob Godfrey tied the game at 2-2 with 3:25 remaining in the third period when he scored his second goal of his career, while he also added an assist in the game-winning goal.

Mercyhurst: Mercyhurst was idle last week but will open conference play at home Friday and Saturday against UConn. The Lakers lead the all-time series 16-5-1 and took three out of four from the Huskies last season. The third win came in the AHA Quarterfinals when Mercyhurst rallied from 2-0, 3-1, and 4-2 deficits to win 7-4. However, a combined four goals and four assists came from three players who graduated last May and are now playing professional hockey: Rich Hansen, David Wrigley, and T.J. Kemp. Counting the exhibition win over Brock, the Lakers have scored six power play goals in 18 chances so far this season, at least one in every game, for a .333 percentage. Conversely, Mercyhurst has killed 18 of 19 opponent chances, .947. The only PPG allowed came in a 4-3 loss at Michigan Tech in the opening game of the season. Mercyhurst has used all three of its goaltenders so far. Junior Mike Ella played game one at MTU, freshman Tyler Small played the second game, and junior Jordan Wakefield, who missed all of last season due to injury, played the exhibition contest against Brock.

Sacred Heart: The Pioneers were off over the weekend. They will play their regular season home opener and Atlantic Hockey opener this weekend when they host Canisius in Friday and Saturday. Game time both nights at the Milford Ice Pavilion is 7:00 pm.
