FOURTH ANNUAL ATLANTIC HOCKEY TOURNAMENT SET FOR ROCHESTER, N.Y.
(The RIT Inn to host Tournament Banquet)

, Mass. --  The Fourth Annual Atlantic Hockey Tournament will be played on March 16-17, 2007 at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y.  The semifinals will be played on Friday, March 16 with the first game set for 4:00 p.m. with the second semifinal contest to start at 7:30 p.m.  The Championship match-up will take place on Saturday, March 17 at 7:00 p.m.


The Atlantic Hockey Banquet is set for Thursday, March 15 at the RIT Inn and Conference Center in Rochester, N.Y.  A social hour will kick off the banquet at 6:00 p.m., with dinner to start at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation of the Atlantic Hockey Regular Season Awards will follow.


The following awards will be handed out during the banquet:  Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, Best Defensive Forward, Best Defensemen, Individual Sportsmanship Award, Team Sportsmanship Award, Regular Scoring Trophy, Regular Season Goaltending Award, the Regular Season Championship Trophy, All-Conference Teams and All-Rookie Team.


Tickets for the banquet are available to all alumni, friends and family members of Atlantic Hockey participating institutions at a cost of $25.00 per ticket.  Reservations for the banquet must be made by Monday, March 12 by contacting David Rourke at drourke@AtlanticHockeyOnline.com or by phone at 978-373-9640.  Tickets for those who made reservations must be paid for at the door on the night of the banquet.


This is the first year the Atlantic Hockey Championship will be played in Rochester, N.Y. at the Blue Cross Arena.  The previous three seasons the AHA Championship was conducted on campus sites.


The Atlantic Hockey Association has signed agreements with the following hotels for fans, friends, family and alumni of participating institutions at the Championships in Rochester.  Fans, friends, family and alumni can stay at the same hotel as the team that they will be cheering on during that schools championship run. 


The Crown Plaza will house the #1 and #3 seeds and they may contact Patty Vahue at 585-324-0038.  The #2 seed staying at the Clarion Riverside Hotel and fans, friends, family and alumni should contact the reservations desk at 1-888-596-6400.  The #4 seed will have rooms at the RIT Inn and those wanting to stay at the RIT Inn and Conference Center should contact Danielle Hayes at 585-359-7750.  Those wishing to stay at the above mentioned hotels should state that they are attending the Atlantic Hockey Tournament to receive our guaranteed rate.  Teams will be reseeded after the completion of the quarterfinals. 


The Atlantic Hockey Association arose when nine institutions joined together on June 30, 2003, to found a new Division-I men's ice hockey conference. The league currently consists of ten members: Air Force Academy, American International College, Army, Bentley College, Canisius College, the University of Connecticut, the College of the Holy Cross, Mercyhurst College, Rochester Institute of Technology and Sacred Heart University.
