Week
Ray Jean - Bentley
Senior, Goaltender, Ranolph, Maine
Jean made 76 saves going 1-0-1 on the weekend. He made a season high 42 saves on Friday night to garner a 3-3 tie against Princeton and back that up with a 34 save effort Saturday night to post a 4-3 victory over the Tigers. Jean also recorded an assist in Saturday's game.

Ian Dams - Holy Cross
Freshman, Goaltender, Manotick, ONT
Dams stopped 51 of 54 shots in two games for a .944 save percentage on the week. Dams earned his first collegiate victory as he made 29 saves in Holy Cross' 2-1 win at Merrimack, while he stopped 22 shots in the 2-1 loss at Yale.

Eric Ehn, Air Force (Jr., F, Dexter, Mich.) - Career-best six points in Friday's win...Had a hand in six of the seven goals...Assisted on the game-winning goal scored by Andrew Ramsey...Six points are the most by a Falcon in 10 years...Named to the all-tournament team at the Lightning College Hockey Classic...Leads the nation in goals with 10.
Matt Fairchild, Air Force (Fr., F, ashburn, Va.) - Career-best three points in Friday's win...Scored the empty-net goal with 12 seconds remaining to seal the victory...His three points are the most by a Falcon freshman in a game this season.
Ian Harper, Air Force (Jr., G, Colorado Springs, Colo.) - Earned his first win of the season in his first appearance against Alabama-Huntsville...Came on in relief of Peter Foster Friday and played the final 30 minutes, allowing one goal and making 11 saves in the win...Allowed just two goals on 25 shots against 11/12th-ranked Notre Dame.
Jeff Gumaer, Bentley (So., F, Webster Grove, Mo.) - Gumaer scored two goals and added two assists this week, including scoring the game-tying goal in Friday's tie with Princeton.
Jason Weeks, Canisius (Fr. F, Seattle, Wash.) - Weeks set a career high with two assists in the game against RIT. He tied for the game high in points with two and is currently tied for second on the team with five points.
Chris Myhro, Connecticut (So. F, Eden Prairie, Minn.)
- Myhro netted a goal in a 6-2 loss to Mercyhurst Friday
night. He then scored the game-winning goal Saturday night in
overtime to give the Huskies thier first win of the season. He is
now tied for the team lead with a total of seven points.
Dale Reinhardt, Holy Cross (Jr., F, Livingston, N.J.)
- Reinhardt scored the game-winning goal and assisted on
Holy Cross' first goal in the 2-1 win at Merrimack on Tuesday.
Reinhardt netted the game-winner to break a 1-1 tie at the 7:39
mark of the second period. He has scored five goals in the first
five games.
Cody Collins, Mercyhurst (Fr., F, Winfield, BC) - Collins assisted three times, his first collegiate points, in Friday's 6-2 win and finished the two games with 4 shots and a +2 rating.
Tyler Small, Mercyhurst (So., G, Kincardine, ONT) - Small stopped a combined 73 of 80 shots (.913) in the weekend split against UConn.
Joceyln Guimond - R.I.T. (Fr., F, Kelowna, BC) - Guimond played a key role in RIT's 4-2 victory over Canisius on Friday. He made 29 saves versus the Golden Griffins, allowing just two goals. He made several big saves late in the conest with RIT killing off a 5-on-3 power play. Guimond played the third period versus Cornell on Saturday. He made 15 saves in did not allow a goal.
Anton Kharin - R.I.T. (Fr., F, Twin Lake, Mich.) - Kharin continued his fine rookie campaign this past weekend. On Friday Kharin got RIT off to a fast start,scoring the first goal of the evening. On Saturday Kharin posted one assist in a 5-3 loss at #13 Cornell University. Kharin is fifth on the team in scoring with seven points on three goals and four assists.
Brent Patry - R.I.T. (Jr., D, Ottawa, ONT) - Patry had a good week last week contributing two points from his defense position. Patry had a goal and an assist on Saturday in a 5-3 loss at #13 Cornell University. Patry is currently tied for third on the team in scoring with eight points on a goal and seven assists.
Stefan Drew - Sacred Heart (So., G, Dugald, MAN)
- Drew made 19 saves in goal Friday night to earn his
first win of the season. After giving up a goal late in the first
period, Drew held Wayne State scoreless for the final 40 minutes of
the game to earn the victory.
Dave Jarman - Sacred Heart (Fr., F, Toronto, ONT)
- Jarman had a breakout weekend in his third set as a
Pioneer, scoring two goals. Friday night he scored the game winner
late in the third period as the Pioneers beat Wayne State, 2-1.
Saturday night Jarman had a goal in the Pioneers failed comeback at
Michigan State. The two tallies were Jarman's first as a Pioneer.
Alexandre Parent - Sacred Heart (Jr., F, Boisbriand, QUE) - Parent was the Pioneers offensive spark during their weekend in Michigan. Friday night he scored the game-tying goal against Wayne State, allowing SHU to gain momentum towards victory. Saturday against Michigan State, he scored a goal and added two assists. Parent is tied for the team lead with five points, two goals and three assists.
Team Notes
Atlantic Hockey: With a pair of Commissioners' Cup victories and the third straight, this past weekend the AHA has collected six points (all versus the CHA) in the third annual competition. Air Force defeated Alabama-Huntsville, for the second time this season, in the first game of the Lightning College Classic at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Fla. The first meeting between the Falcons and the Chargers was a 4-2 victory for Air Force in Colorado. Sacred Heart needed a pair of third period goals to come-from-behind for a 2-1 win over Wayne State in Detroit to earn another two points for the AHA.
Air Force: Andrew Ramsey and Mike Phillipich had three points in Friday's game...Jeff Hajner scored the first goal of his career on Friday...Greg Flynn recorded his first point of the season with an assist on Friday...AFA's win over UAH on Friday was its fourth straight win over the Chargers...Ramsey and Ehn had four-game point-scoring streak snapped on Saturday...The Falcons were shut out for the second time this season on Saturday...In the last seven years, the Falcons have played in the championship game of seven tournaments with four tournament titles and three second-place finishes...Air Force scored four power-play goals on Friday, a season-high. The Falcons won the battle of special teams. AFA is 2-0 when winning the special teams war. The four PPG are the most since the Falcons scored five vs. UAH, Feb. 18, 2006...Air Force hosts RIT, Nov. 3-4 at the Academy. AFA and RIT played four times last season with the Falcons holding a 2-1-1 advantage...Air Force and RIT have met nine times and the series is dead even at 4-4-1. Eight of the 10 games have been played at Air Force and the teams are 3-3-1 at the Academy.
American International: AIC played a CCHA team for the first time in the Division I era when it faced Lake Superior State last weekend. The Yellow Jackets will play their home opener Friday night when they host Army.
Army: The Black Knights dropped two contests over the weekend at the first annual Lightning College Hockey Classic held at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Fla. Army fell to No. 11/12 Notre Dame, 3-0, on Friday night in the first round and 2-1 to Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday night in the consolation game ... sophomore goaltender Josh Kassel registered 27 saves against the Irish and 26 saves against UAH, posting a .914 save percentage at the tournament ... defenseman Zach McKelvie scored his second goal of the season on Saturday night ... Army's two losses marked the first time the Black Knights have lost on back-to-back nights this season.
Bentley: The Falcons erased a three-goal deficit in both games against Princeton this weekend, earning a 3-3 tie on Friday and winning 4-3 on Saturday...Bentley has now come back from three goals down in the last three consecutive games...The Falcons earned their first-ever win against an ECACHL team in eight games at the Division I level...Sophomore forward Jeff Gumaer scored two goals, including the game-tying goal, on Friday, then notched two assists on Saturday...Sophomore forward Tom Dickhudt scored two goals, including the game-winner, on Saturday at Princeton...Senior goalie Ray Jean recorded an assist for the second time in his career on Saturday against Princeton...Freshman Anders Olson notched his first collegiate goal in Friday's 3-3 ovetime tie with Princeton...After a season-opening five-game road trip, the Falcons now play three of their next four games at home...This weekend, Bentley plays a home-and-home series against Connecticut...The Falcons swept the Huskies in four games last season.
Canisius: Canisius dropped both of its games last week - losing 9-0 at Colgate and 4-2 to the Rochester Institute of Technology. The game against RIT was at the Amherst Pepsi Center, the first game for Canisius at the Pepsi Center since February 2001. The Griffs played the Raiders for the first time since a February 5, 2002 meeting. Canisius opened its conference schedule with three home games since 2003-04 when it opened with five. Josh Heidinger (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Jason Weeks (Seattle, Wash.) each had two points against the Tigers. Heidinger has five points in the last three games. He's the first Griffin to achieve since that Tim Songin had five points from Jan. 28 to Feb. 11. Weeks had his first multiple-point game with two assists against the Tigers. Canisius held a 31-24 advantage in shots and had the shot advantage for the first time this season. The Griffs last held a shot advantage March 3, 2006, against Mercyhurst. The 22 penalty minutes for the Griffs tied a season low, which also came Oct. 20 against Sacred Heart. The Griffs open the road portion of their Atlantic Hockey schedule this weekend with two games at defending league champion Holy Cross.
Connecticut: The Huskies began the weekend with a 6-2 loss at Mercyhurst to start the season 0-5-0 for the first time since the 1961-62 season. UConn tallied nine more shots than the Lakers, but were unable to find the back of the net. Senior Trevor Stewart scored his first goal of the seaason in the second period to put the Huskies back in the game, but three unanswered goals from Mercyhurst sealed the win for the homestanding Lakers. The following night, the Huskies avoided the worst start in school history with a thrilling, 5-4, overtime victory against the Lakers for their first win of the young season. In that game, senior Matt Scherer scored two goals for the Huskies in the second period to up his total to six this season. Scherer now has 46 goals for his career at UConn, tying him for first place all-time in goals scored since UConn becamed a Division I program. Scherer has now tallied at least one point in each game this season for the Huskies. With the Huskies in front by one goal in the third period, Mercyhurst tied the game with less than two minutes remaining, ultimately sending the game into overtime. Sophomore Chris Myhro then provided the heroics for the Huskies as he connected for the game-winning goal just over a minute into the extra session. The win marked the first overtime win for the Huskies since Feb. 2004 in a 3-2 win at Bentley.Holy Cross: The Crusaders' 2-1 win at Merrimack marked their second straight win over a Hockey East team as they earned a 3-2 win at UMass-Amherst, on October 21, 2005...Holy Cross is set to host six of its next seven games at the Hart Center with all of them against Atlantic Hockey teams...Junior Dale Reinhardt has scored five goals as his 1.00 goals per game are tied for fifth in the nation. He has both of Holy Cross' game-winning goals this season...Senior captain James Sixsmith scored a goal and had an assist at Merrimack, as he already has six assists giving him 80 for his career which is good for fourth on Holy Cross' all-time Division I chart...Freshman goaltender Ian Dams earned his first collegiate win as he made 29 saves at Merrimack. Dams only allowed three goals on the week stopping 51 of 54 shots for a .944 save percentage...Freshman Ryan Driscoll has gotten off to an impressive start as his goal against Yale gave him three goals on the season.Mercyhurst: UConn snapped a 6-game losing streak against Mercyhurst in Saturday's OT win. The Lakers still lead the all-time series 21-5-1. Freshman forward Nick Vandenbeld scored his first collegiate goal Friday. The line of Ben Cottreau, Scott Champagne, and Kyle Gourgon accounted for 14 points (6g, 8a) in the two games against the Huskies. Sophomore defenseman Bobby Phillips had the second 2-assist game of his career Friday. His first came at Bentley last February. Sophomore forward Matt Pierce had a four-game goal scoring streak snapped Saturday. After 27 minor penalties were assessed the two teams in Friday's tilt, only five minors were dished out Saturday. Mercyhurst travels to Sacred Heart next weekend for a pair of games. Although the Pioneers won 3 of 4 meetings last season, the all-time series is tied 10-10-2.
Rochester Instit. of Tech.: RIT won its third straight game on Friday with a 4-2 victory at Canisius. The win gave the Tigers a 3-0-0 record in the Atlantic Hockey Association. Matt Smith had a goal and an assist and Jocleyn Guimond made 29 saves. RIT went 1-for-4 on the power play and held Canisius to 1-for-8 with the man advantage. On Saturday the Tigers fell to #15/13 Cornell University 5-3. RIT fell behind early but battled back and made a game of it. Brent Patry had a goal and an assist for the Tigers.
Sacred Heart: The Pioneers split a pair of games during a trip to Michigan over the weekend, winning Friday night at Wayne State, 2-1, before falling to Michigan State, 7-5, Saturday. It was the first meeting against either team for the Pioneers. Freshmen Dave Jarman scored two goals on the weekend, his first markers as a Pioneer. Jarman's goal Friday night was the game winner. Junior Alexandre Parent had four points on the weekend, including the game tying goal on Friday and three points on Saturday. He now is tied for the team lead in scoring with five points. Sophomore Stefan Drew made 19 saves Friday night for his first win of the season. SHU went 2-3-1 in their season opening six game road trip. The Pioneers open their home schedule Friday night against Mercyhurst. The teams will also meet Saturday night in Milford. Both games can be heard on WICC 600 AM.
