Former Laker Re-signs with Amarillo
GORILLAS INK RETURNING FORWARD
AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Gorillas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today they have re-signed 2nd year forward, Rich Hansen. Hansen, 25, was 5th on the team in points last season (42) and 4th in assists (30) in just his second professional season and first in the CHL.
Before joining the Gorillas last year, the Northport, New York native saw limited action with the Muskegon Fury of the United Hockey League (UHL) appearing in only 4 games tallying just one goal. But last season proved to be a breakout campaign offensively for Hansen as he notched 12 goals and 30 assists while only missing 5 games during the regular season.
Before beginning his professional career, Hansen played college hockey at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania where he compiled 42 goals and 85 assists through a 127-game college career. Hansen becomes the 15th player signed by the Gorillas for the upcoming 2006-07 season.
