WAKEFIELD, Mass. (July 31, 2006) --  Commissioner Robert DeGregorio announced today that the Atlantic Hockey Association and Turfer Athletic have agreed to a three-year deal, making Turfer the "Official Outerwear Supplier of the Atlantic Hockey Association."  DeGregorio and Turfer Athletic President Glenn Cook were present at the contract signing.

Turfer Athletic will develop a custom outerwear and apparel collection dedicated to Atlantic Hockey and its membership.  This collection will provide unity to Atlantic Hockey members and simultaneously create individuality for each team.  This custom outerwear and apparel will be sold through the WearYourColors/Atlantic Hockey distribution channel.  Atlantic Hockey merchandise can be purchased through a link on the WearYourColors.com website, through an Atlantic Hockey specific catalog or by calling a toll free 800 number.

Turfer Athletic will also sponsor one of the current awards being presented by Atlantic Hockey.  Cook and Turfer Athletic will hold sponsorship of the Individual Sportsmanship Award and it will be renamed to "Turfer Athletic Individual Sportsmanship Award," for Atlantic Hockey.  This award will be presented at the tournament banquet on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the RIT Inn in Rochester, N.Y.

In addition to being the "Official Outwear Supplier," Turfer Athletic will receive a link on the Atlantic Hockey website, as well as a booth at the 2007 Championship at the Blue Cross Arena to display and sell Atlantic Hockey merchandise.

"We are excited to have Glenn and Tufer Athletic part of Atlantic Hockey," stated DeGregorio.  "With Atlantic Hockey's emergence over the last three-years, it was time we let the public have a chance to purchase Atlantic Hockey merchandise."

"All of us at Turfer Athletic are proud and excited to be part of the Atlantic Hockey family" said Cook. "Turfer Athletic commitment to manufacturing innovated custom athletic apparel for the Atlantic Hockey Conference will help the leagues teams stand out among its peers.  We look forward to a long and successful relationship for years to come."

The Atlantic Hockey Association was formed when nine institutions joined together in 2003.  The Division-I men's ice hockey conference has since expanded to ten members: Air Force Academy, American International College, Army, Bentley College, Canisius College, the University of Connecticut, the College of the Holy Cross, Mercyhurst College, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Sacred Heart University.
