Atlantic Hockey Weekly Award Winners for Games Through March 16

Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week

JOSH PRINT - AIR FORCE
Senior, Forward, Timberlake, Ohio

First goal of the season gave Air Force a 2-1 lead vs. top-seeded Miami in the NCAA Northeast Regional. Was also a +1 in the game. It was his first ever goal in the NCAA Tournament.

Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Week

ANDREW VOLKENING - AIR FORCE
Sophomore, Goaltender, Genoa, Ill.

30 saves vs. top-seeded Miami in the NCAA Northeast Regional. Made numerous spectacular saves in the game, including one stick save in the second period that was the ESPN No. 1 Play of the Day on March 29. He was chosen as the goaltender on the all-tournament team, a first for an Air Fore player. Made six saves in overtime, including a blocker save on the nation's leading goal scorer, Ryan Jones.

Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week

DERRICK BURNETT - AIR FORCE
Freshman, Forward, Corona, Calif.

His goal early in the second period tied the game a 1-1. the goal was his seventh of the season. It was his first ever goal in the NCAA Tournament.

Back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history...Andrew Volkening was named to the Northeast Regional All-Tournament Team, becoming the first AFA player honored...AFA has now lost two NCAA Tournament games by a total of two goals with one of them going into overtime...First service academy to ever compete in the NCAA Hockey Championships and first to play in back-to-back tourneys...Unbeaten streak ended at nine games (8-0-1), the longest in the nation at the time and the longest Division I streak in school history...8-1-1 in the last 11 games, outscoring its opponents, 45-15...Frank Serratore has led Air Force to back-to-back winning seasons for the first tine in his 11 years and for the first time in the last 18 years...21 Division I wins are a new school record...Won 40 games the last two years, a new school record with 20 at home and 20 on the road...Four players finished the season with 10 or more goals and seven had 25 or more points...Greg Flynn is fifth in the nation in points by a defenseman with 31 points in 39 games. He was the first Falcon defenseman with 30 or more points in a season in 13 years...Brent Olson led the team with 18 goals and tied for the team lead with 39 points...Jeff Hajner tied for the team lead with 39 points...After missing 14 games and nine weeks with a leg injury, Eric Ehn returned to the lineup in the NCAA Tournament. He concludes his career ranked 11th in school history in scoring with 146 points in 133 career games. He has scored more points than any other player in the last 22 years...The Class of 2008 won more Division I games (65) than any other team in school history...Volkening's stick save vs. Miami was ESPN's No. 1 Play of the Day on March 29...Volkening set new school records for saves percentage (.911) and goals against average (2.09)...The back-to-back championships mark the first time in Air Force history any team won consecutive league titles at the Division I level in any sport.

HOLY CROSS

The College of the Holy Cross hosted the Northeast Regional for the first time in school history at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass.. This was the 10th time a regional had been hosted at the DCU Center. The previous nine regionals were hosted by Boston University.
