Saturday even strength...His first goal Friday was AFA's first
short-handed goal of the season and the first shortie of his
career...Two goals on Friday tied his career high...Three-goal
series is a career best.

Sophomore, Goaltender, Chicoutimi, QUE
Menard stopped 57-of-61 shots in the two weekend games, leading
the Tigers to a win and a tie at Bentley. On Friday, he stopped 26
shots in the 3-2 win and made 31 saves on Saturday in a 2-2 tie. He
is now 5-4-3 this season with a 2.77 goals against average and .909
save percentage.

EVERETT SHEEN - HOLY CROSS

Sheen scored three goals in the home-and-home series with
Connecticut. On Friday night, he scored the game-winner in the 4-1
victory on the road, while on Saturday he scored Holy Cross' last
two goals in the 3-3 tie. Sheen has scored six goals in the last
three games as his seven goals so far this season lead the team.

Andrew Volkening, Air Force (So, G, Genoa, Ill.) - Came on in
relief of Ian Harper on Friday and played the final two periods,
earning the win...Stopped 10 of 11 shots...Earned the win on
Saturday in leading Air Force to its first league sweep of the
season...18 saves on 20 shots...Has a record of 9-3-1 this
season.
Jereme Tendler, American Int'l (Sr, F, Viceroy, SASK) - Tendler
scored twice Friday evening as the Jackets dropped a 6-3 decision
to the Air Force Falcons. The two goals put him in a tie for the
team lead with sophomore Mike McMillan with five goals on the
season.
Owen Meyer, Army (So, F, Dundee, Ill.) - Scored a goal in each game
as Army split a weekend series with Sacred Heart. Meyer leads the
team with 11 goals.
Cody Omilusik, Army (Fr, F, Traverse City, Mich.) - Scored a pair
of goals over the weekend to help Army split a series with Sacred
Heart.
Anthony Canzoneri, Bentley (Jr, F, Homer Glen, Ill.) - Canzoneri
scored the game-tying goal in Saturday's draw with RIT and added an
assist in Friday night's game.
Joe Calvi, Bentley (Fr, G, New Lenox, Ill.) - Calvi posted a 2.43
goals against average and .940 save percentage in two games last
weekend. He stopped 36 shots on Friday night and made a career-high
42 saves to help Bentley to a tie on Saturday. Calvi leads Atlantic
Hockey with a .931 save percentage and 2.13 goals against
average.
Josh Heidinger, Canisius (So, F, Buffalo, N.Y.) - Heidinger helped
lead the Griffs to a 4-0 victory over Mercyhurst on Friday. The
sophomore scored in his seventh-consecutive Atlantic Hockey
contest, recording a goal and an assist. Heidinger posted an assist
on the game-winning goal and then scored the team's third goal en
route to the victory.
Andrew Loewen, Canisius (So, G, Winnipeg, MAN) - Loewen anchored a
Canisius defense that led the Griffs to a 4-0 victory over
Mercyhurst on Friday. The sophomore recorded 34 saves to earn his
first collegiate shutout. Loewen recorded 17 of his 34 saves in the
final frame to help the Griffs earn the victory. During the series
finale, Loewen stopped 31 shots.
Vincent Scarsella, Canisius (Fr, F, Lackawanna, N.Y.) - Scarsella
posted two assists in the Griffs' 4-0 victory against Mercyhurst.
He found a wide-open teammate in the second period, which led to
the game-winning goal. Scarsella also contributed an assist on the
team's third goal.
Beau Erickson, Connecticut (So, G, Hinton, Iowa) - Erickson made 56
saves, including a point blank save in overtime on Joe Brock
Saturday in order to preserve the 3-3 tie.
Adam Roy, Holy Cross (Fr, G, Feeding Hills, Mass.) - Roy stopped 49
of 53 shots in the home-and-home series with Connecticut. He
made 22 saves and allowed one goal in the 4-1 win at UConn on
Friday, while he stopped 27 shots and allowed three goals in the
3-3 tie on Saturday. Roy is now 3-3-2 on the season.
Kerry Bowman, Mercyhurst (Sr, F, Leamington, ONT) - Bowman
registered his first two goals of the season (including the
game-winner) and second career two-goal game in Saturday's 5-2 win
over Canisius. His only other two-goal effort occurred at American
International College January 15, 2005, when he also tallied the
game-winner in a 6-3 verdict. One of his goals was shorthanded, the
second of his career and first since his sophomore season.
Dan Bremner, Mercyhurst (Fr, F, Sarnia, ONT) - Bremner collected
his first collegiate goal on his only shot on goal Saturday. His
goal was the first goal of the game and gave the Lakers a lead they
would never relinquish. It was Bremner's fifth game of his
career.
Matt Lundin, Mercyhurst (Jr, G, Apple Valley, Minn.) - Lundin
picked up the Lakers' first win at home this season with a 5-2 win
Saturday over visiting Canisius. He stopped a combined 54 of 60
shots against the Griffs in a 1-1 weekend.
Simon Lambert, R.I.T. (Sr, F, Ste. Therese, QUE) - Lambert tallied
two goals and an assist as RIT earned three out a possible four
points at Bentley this weekend. On Friday, Lambert tallied a goal
and an assist in RIT's 3-2 win over the Falcons. It was Lambert's
100th game of his collegiate career. On Saturday, his goal early in
the first period gave RIT the 1-0 lead, as the Tigers held on for a
2-2 tie. Lambert leads the Tigers with 17 points and is tied for
the team lead with eight goals and nine assists.
Erik Boisvert, Sacred Heart (So, F, Drummondville, QUE) - Boisvert
scored two goals in SHU's weekend split with Army. He had the game
winning goal in Saturday's win over Army. The sophomore has now
registered one point in seven of his last eight games.
Stefan Drew, Sacred Heart (Jr, G, Oakbank, MAN) - Drew made 57
saves in two games against Army to help the Pioneers to a split.
The weekend included double digit saves in three of six periods.
After making 30 saves in a losing effort Friday, Drew came back and
stopped 27 shots, inlcudig 24 in the final two periods, to earn a
victory on Saturday.
Bear Trapp, Sacred Heart (Jr, F, Balcarres, SASK) - Trapp figured
in on three of SHU's six goals on the weekend, tallying three
assists in the series with Army. He had one helper on Friday and
added two more on Saturday. Trapp has now registered a point in
four straight games and seven of his last eight contests.

Air Force: AFA earns first league sweep of the season and moved
into first place...AFA's four-game unbeaten streak is tied as the
fifth-longest in the nation...AFA is now 14-0 all-time vs. AIC and
6-0 all-time at AIC...AFA out-shot AIC, 72-35 in the series...Eric
Ehn has a seven-game scoring streak and has nine points in his last
four games...Josh Frider has seven points in his last four
games...Michael Mayra had a career-best three assists on
Friday...Derrick Burnett had a career-high two assists on
Friday...Freshman Owen Kelly scored the first goal of his career
with a shortie on Saturday. The goal also was the eventual game
-winner...Senior left-winger Josh Print played his first game of
the season after missing the first 13 games with an injury...AFA
moved up to eighth in the nation in scoring, averaging 3.35 goals
per game...The Falcons scored a season-high four PPG on Friday and
five in the series...AFA scored on 41.7 percent of its power plays
vs. AIC (5-for-12)...In the last three games, AFA has eight power
play goals. The Falcons had just five power play goals in the first
12 games...AFA has held its opponents to an average of just 17
shots per game in the last six games...Eric Ehn had four points on
the weekend and now has 140 career points in 122 games. He is now
14th in career scoring at the Academy and has the most points in
school history in Division I games...AFA hosts Canisius next
week...The teams split four games last season and split the series
at each site.
American International: The American International College ice
hockey squad dropped a pair of contests to the Air Force Falcons
over the weekend. Jereme Tendler scored twice on Friday evening. It
was the first multi goal game for Tendler since January 12th of
last season when he tallied a hat-trick in a 6-1 win over Bentley.
He is now tied with sophomore Mike McMillan for the team lead with
five goals. The Jackets registered three power-play goals,
improving on just two man advantage scores prior to the weekend.
They posted one power-play goal Friday night when David Turco
scored and two on Saturday via Chad Richardson and Chris Bolognino
goals. AIC nabbed former Connecticut Husky Brian Burns as their new
volunteer-assistant coach. He replaces Patrick Tabb who is now the
head coach of the Springfield Falcons Junior B Team. AIC has three
home match-ups coming up, first this Tuesday against Connecticut,
followed by a pair against RIT over the weekend.
Army: The Black Knights split a weekend series with Sacred Heart,
winning at home and losing on the road. Four different players
scored in a 4-2 win at Tate Rink on Friday while Army lost 4-2 on
Saturday ... Sophomore Owen Meyer and freshman Cody Omilusik each
scored a goal in both games. Both of Meyer's goals came on the
power play while Omilusik scored a short0-handed goal Saturday and
an even strength goal on Friday ... Luke Flicek and Zach McKelvie
also had points in both games with an assist in each contest ...
Eric Sefchik handed out two assists on Friday ... Meyer leads the
team with 11 goals and is tied for the team point lead with 20.
Flicek has a team and conference best 14 assists ... The Black
Knights are idle until Dec. 29 when they play Connecticut in the
UConn/Toyota Classic. Army will play the Huskies in a conference
game and then play either Brown or Ferris State the second day.
Bentley: Bentley picked up one point this weekend with a Saturday
night 2-2 draw against RIT after falling on Friday night by a 3-2
margin ... Freshman goaltender Joe Calvi leads Atlantic Hockey with
a 2.13 goals against average and .931 save percentage ... Both of
those numbers would be Bentley single-season records ... Junior
Jeff Gumaer tallied a goal and an assist this weekend to move into
sole possession of fifth place among Bentley's Division I career
scoring leaders with 67 points ... Gumaer already holds the Bentley
Division I goal-scoring record which he added to this weekend with
his 40th career goal ... This week, Bentley hosts Sacred Heart on
Wednesday and visits Massachusetts-Lowell on Saturday ... The
Falcons beat the Pioneers, 3-1, on Nov. 6 in Watertown ... Bentley
has never beaten a Hockey East team, including going 0-2 against
the River Hawks with the last meeting coming in the 2004-05
season.
Canisius: The Griffs split a pair of games with the Mercyhurst
Lakers, winning, 4-0, on Friday and losing the finale, 5-2. The two
teams were meeting for the 49th and 50th time in the series
history. Canisius has played Mercyhurst more than any other
opponent in the program's history. A total of 1,168 fans attended
the Griffs 4-0 victory against Mercyhurst, the second-highest total
for a Canisius game at the Buffalo State Sports Arena. More than a
1,000 fans have attended a Canisius game at the arena on four
occasions, with two of them coming this year. The Griffs rank
fourth in Atlantic Hockey in attendance, averaging 1,150 fans in
its two home games. Sophomore Andrew Loewen led the Griffs to
victory during the opener. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native stopped
all 34 shots in goal, including 17 in the third period, to earn his
first collegiate shutout. Loewen is the first Griff to post a
shutout since Dan Giffin on Feb. 24, 2006. Sophomore Carl Hudson
scored the game-winning goal on the power play. The score was the
third for Hudson on the power play this season and the 11th of his
career. His 11 power play goals rank sixth in the school's Division
I record book. Hudson has scored 11 of his 14 career goals (78.6
percent) on the power play. He ranks seventh in Atlantic Hockey
with three power-play goals and fifth in scoring among defensemen
with eight points. Sophomore Josh Heidinger also posted a goal and
an assist during the game, ending an impressive month of November.
Heidinger scored one goal in all seven Atlantic Hockey games during
the month and posted multiple points on four occasions. He ranks
seventh in the league with 14 points and fourth with seven goals.
Freshman Vincent Scarsella posted two assists in the Griffs
victory. The rookie is tied for the Atlantic Hockey lead for points
among freshmen with 10 points. During the finale, senior Greg Brown
scored for the Griffs. Brown, who played in his 100th career game
on Friday, tallied his first score of the season. Redshirt
sophomore Ryan Klusendorf posted an assist during the game.
Klusendorf, who missed most of his first two seasons due to injury
and played in only three games, recorded his first point Oct. 22,
2005. Canisius continues Atlantic Hockey play next weekend with two
games at Air Force.Connecticut: Despite Holy Cross recording three
power play goals on Saturday, the penalty kill continues to be a
highlight for the Huskies. UConn has now killed 63 out of 73 power
plays, a success rate of 86 percent. That ranks as 21st in the
nation. They had been as high as sixth in the nation before this
weekend. On the other side, the power play is something UConn will
continue to attempt to improve on, as they are 5 for 53 this year
on the power play, which ranks 54th in the nation. Sean Erickson's
eight assists has him on the national top 50 list. His average of
0.67 assists per game ranks a tie for 45th among all Division I
hockey players. His 42 total assist puts him in a tie for 8th
all-time on UConn's career Division I assist leaders. AIC is
UConn's last opponent before the Huskies take a 25 day break for
exams and holidays. Connecticut beat the Yellow Jackets 4-2 in
Storrs on October 19 to open the 2007-08 season.
Holy Cross: Holy Cross' 31.2 power play percentage is ranked first
in the nation. The Crusaders are 20-64 on power play opportunities,
including a 3-5 performance at Providence (10/20), a 3-7
performance at Mercyhurst (10/26), a 3-8 performance against Army
(11/4) and a 3-8 performance against Connecticut (12/1). Sophomore
Ryan Driscoll's five power play goals are tied for sixth in the
country. Freshman Everett Sheen has scored six goals in the last
three games as his seven goals so far this season lead the team.
Senior Dale Reinhardt has at least one point in nine of the 12
games this season, while sophomores Brodie Sheahan and Rob Forshner
have earned at least one point in eight of the 12 games. The
Crusaders will host Hockey East member Merrimack on December 4.
Holy Cross has won three out of its last four games against teams
from Hockey East. This season the Crusaders won at Providence by a
score of 6-4 on October 20, 2007. Last season, the Crusaders fell
to Northeastern, 7-2, on December 30, 2006, while they defeated
Merrimack, 2-1, on October 24, 2006. Two seasons ago the Crusaders
earned a 3-2 win at UMass-Amherst on October 21, 2005. Holy Cross
has an all-time record of 22-75-0 against teams currently in Hockey
East. Between the first and second period of the game against UConn
on December 1, Holy Cross honored the eight members of the men's
hockey team that are in the Holy Cross Varsity Club Hall of Fame
with an on ice recognition. The following members of the Hall of
Fame are Larry Murphy `70, Gerry Curley `81, Jim Stewart `79, Joe
Lunny `86, Glenn Graves `77, Bill Bellerose `77, Dean Casagrande
`83 and Matt Muniz `87.
Mercyhurst: Head coach Rick Gotkin picked up his 350th career win
Saturday as Mercyhurst snapped a four-game winless streak which
included two overtime losses and an overtime tie. After being
blanked for the second time this season Friday at Canisius, 12
different players recorded points in Saturday's 5-2 win over the
Golden Griffins. Senior Kerry Bowman recorded the second two-goal
game of his career and tallied the second shorthanded goal of his
career. Junior defenseman Kirk Medernach also scored shorthanded.
It was his 3rd career goal and second goal in his last three games.
The Lakers have scored 4 shorthanded goals this season. They had
only two in all of 2006-07. Freshman Dan Bremner scored his first
collegiate goal Saturday. Freshman Mike Gurtler scored Saturday and
has two goals in his last three games. With the weekend split
against Canisius, the Lakers lead the all-time series 29-14-7.
Saturday's win at home was the team's first this season in five
games (1-2-2). Mercyhurst will take next weekend off before hosting
AIC December 14 and 15 to close the 2007 portion of the
campaign.
Rochester Institute of Technology: The Tigers began their 10-game,
54-days between home games swing with a win and a tie at Bentley
over the weekend. RIT is riding a five-game unbeaten streak
(2-0-3). Freshman Andrew Favot made his first collegiate goal
count, as it was the game-winner on Friday. In overtime on
Saturday, freshman Sean Murphy had appeared to score the
game-winner, as the red light went on, but the referee waved off
the goal. Senior Simon Lambert has six goals in his last six games.
He leads the Tigers with eight goals, nine assists and 17 points
this season. He also played in his 100th career game on Friday. The
Tigers ended November with a 4-3-3 mark. It is the first time RIT
has recorded three ties in a month since January, 1998. The Tigers
played five overtime games in November, most in the program's
history. December was the month where RIT started to make its run
towards the Atlantic Hockey regular season title a year ago. RIT
entered play in December 2006 with a 4-5-2 mark. The Tigers went
5-1 last December en route to a 12-3-0 run through the end of
January. Goaltender Louis Menard went 4-2-3 with a 2.36 goals
against average and .922 save percentage in November. RIT travels
to AIC for a pair of games this weekend. The Tigers have never lost
to the Yellow Jackets, with an 8-0-1 all-time mark. RIT won all
four meeting between the two clubs last season, outscoring AIC 25-7
in the four contests.
Sacred Heart: The Pioneers split a weekend series with first place
Army, losing the opener at Tate Rink before rebounding to Saturday
in Milford. Sophomore Nick Johnson and junior Bear Trapp each had
three points while sophomore Erik Boisvert scored two goals.
Johnson has now registered a point in nine straight games while
Boisvert and Trapp have tallied a point in seven of eight games.
The Pioneers travel to Bentley Wednesday night in their only game
of the week.
