American International: American International College dropped a
pair of one goal contests on the road to Mercyhurst College this
weekend. Friday evening, Mike McMillan scored his team leading
seventh goal of the season, but the Yellow Jackets fell 5-4. Mark
Pavli notched three assists in that game. Saturday, AIC fell 2-1
despite holding a one goal lead after Chris Campanale notched his
second goal of the season in the second period. AIC will take a
rest before hosting Robert Morris at the Olympia Ice Center January
4th + 5th. It marks the first time the two programs have ever
skated against each other.
Army: The Black Knights are in the middle of a 28-day layoff. Army
last competed Dec. 1 and split a home-and-home series with Sacred
Heart. The Black Knights return to action with a conference game
against Connecticut in the Toyota/UConn Classic in Storrs, Conn.
Army will play at 7 p.m. on Dec. 29 and then compete against either
Brown or Ferris State ... Senior forward Bryce Hollweg is among the
20 players who were announced as candidates for the 2007-08 Lowe's
Senior CLASS Award. Hollweg, a team captain, is eligible for the
award which honors a player who has combined excellence in
athletics, academics and community support and is presented
annually to the NCAA Division I student-athlete of the year in
eight sports and focuses on the four c's of classroom, character,
community and competition.
Connecticut: The Huskies annual hockey tournament the Toyota UConn
Hockey Classic will be running its 15th edition on December 29 and

on with them when they moved up to the top level. UConn has
actually had more success in the tournament in the nine years since
moving up to Division I. They have reached the title game in six of
those years, and won the title in 1999 and 2003. UConn will be
looking to repeat the success they had last season after the break.
After a 5-12-0 start before their break last season, they used the
tournament to springboard to a 11-6-2 finish and a semifinal
appearance in the Atlantic Hockey Playoffs.
Mercyhurst: The Lakers are now 23-2-1 lifetime against AIC and
11-0-1 at home. The 3-game winning streak is the best since the

Friday. Freshman Scott Pitt snapped a 10-game goal-scoring drought
Saturday. His power play goal was his 4th of the season, tying him
