
Mercyhurst's Bowman Signs With Port Huron (IHL)

Port Huron, Mich. - The Port Huron Icehawks of the International
Hockey League, have signed rookie forward Kerry Bowman to a
professional tryout. Bowman made his professional debut last night
as Port Huron blanked the Bloomington PrairieThunder 2-0 on home
ice. He did not factor in the scoring.
Bowman (6-0, 180 lbs) recently wrapped up his senior season at
Mercyhurst, where he posted 14 points (5g, 9a) in 36 games and was
awarded the Bill Smith Award for meritorious service to the game.
He also notched the game winner in overtime on March 8, 2008 to win
the best-of-three quarterfinals against Canisius and send the
Lakers to the Atlantic Hockey Association Final Five.
The 23-year old finished his collegiate career (2004-2008) with 28
points (12g, 16a) in 120 games.
Bowman was reunited with Icehawks center Rich Hansen. The duo
played for the Lakers during the 2004-05 season. Port Huron's win
last night started a five-game homestand.
