RIT's SMITH SIGNS WITH SOUTH CAROLINA (ECHL)

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays announced that they have signed rookie forward Matt Smith.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

The 25 year old recently completed his season at Rochester Institute of Technology where he tied for third in the nation with 27 goals and had 39 points and 22 penalty minutes in 36 games.
