PORT HURON, Mich. - Stan Drulia, head coach and general manager of the Port Huron Icehawks, announced that the team has signed rookie center Jereme Tendler to a professional tryout.

Tendler (6-1, 185 lbs) played four seasons (2004-2008) at American International College (Springfield, MA) in the NCAA where he averaged 22 points per season. In his junior season (2005-06), the Viceroy, Saskatchewan native notched eight multi-point games and led the team in scoring (15g, 11a), power play goals (5) and game winning tallies (3).

The 24-year old wrapped up his final college season this winter with 21 points (10g, 11a), bringing him to a total of 87 points (49g, 38a) over the course of his college career.

The rookie is slated to be in the line-up tonight when the Icehawks take on the Fort Wayne Komets at McMorran Arena. He will be reunited on the ice with Icehawks defenseman Jeremy Leroux, whom he played with for two seasons at American International.

The second place Icehawks will be looking to extend a four game win streak tonight, but will face a tough opponent in the first place Fort Wayne Komets. The Komets have already clinched a playoff berth, as well as the IHL regular season championship and have won the last eight contests versus Port Huron.

The game will feature Mascot Mania, an on-ice game of broomball pitting area mascots against each other. Tickets are available now at the Icehawks office, McMorran Arena box office, all Ticketmaster locations and http://www.ticketmaster.com/.
