Bentley College freshman goaltender Joe Calvi, a New Lenox native, was selected to the 2008 Atlantic Hockey All-Conference Third Team, as well as the All-Rookie Team.

Calvi played in 32 games during the past season, compiling a 2.90-goals-against average, which was third-best in the history of the Massachusetts school. He also had a .913 save percentage, which was second-best in Bentley history, along with a 9-16-5 record.

Calvi set the Falcons' single-season record with 936 saves. He also became the fourth goalie in program history to record multiple shutouts in a season, notching his first whitewashing in his third career game against Air Force on Oct. 26 and duplicating the feat on Feb. 15 against Connecticut.

Calvi was the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Month in October and Goaltender of the Month in November.
