Mercyhurst junior Cullen Eddy participating in the NHL Columbus Blue Jackets' development camp


 

COLUMBUS, OHIO - Mercyhurst junior defenseman Cullen Eddy is participating in the NHL Columbus Blue Jackets' development camp today through Friday. Eddy, a late addition to the roster, was scouted several times by Columbus during the 2007-2008 season. The camp is being held for the club's prospects, including six picks selected from the 2008 Entry Draft. The development camp will begin with medicals and fitness testing as well as an on-ice session Monday before four days of on and off-ice workouts commence on Tuesday.

"I'm very excited for Cullen", said Mercyhurst head coach Rick Gotkin.  "It's a wonderful opportunity for him to play with and against some of the best prospects in the world."

On-ice workouts, which are open to the public, will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Monday and from 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Friday.

Conducting the on-ice elements of the camp will be Blue Jackets Head Coach Ken Hitchcock, Assistant Coach Claude Noel and Development Coach Tyler Wright.

The development camp schedule for Monday through Friday is listed below.

Monday, July 7 - 5 to 6 p.m.
Tuesday, July 8 - 10:30 a.m. to Noon
Wednesday, July 9 - 10:30 a.m. to Noon
Thursday, July 10 - 10:30 a.m. to Noon
Friday, July 11 - 10:30 a.m. to Noon
