
Holy Cross Names Rob Godfrey Assistant Men's Hockey Coach

WORCESTER, Mass. - The College of the Holy
Cross has named Rob Godfrey as an assistant men's hockey coach, as
announced by head coach Paul Pearl and Athletic Director Richard M.
Regan, Jr.
Godfrey is in his second season on the Holy Cross staff and his
first as an assistant coach. He was the director of hockey
operations a season ago. As an assistant coach with the Crusaders,
his responsibilities include recruiting and working with all
positions with an emphasis on defense.
A native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, and a 2007 graduate of Holy
Cross, Godfrey had an outstanding career as a defenseman for the
Crusaders. He played in 121 career games with nine goals and 25
assists for 34 points, including four goals and seven assists for
11 points as a senior and four goals and 12 assists for 16 points
as a junior. In 2005-06, Godfrey was named the Atlantic Hockey Best
Defensive Defenseman, while he received the Glenn "Spike" Crane
Memorial Award and the Seventh Player Award. As a senior, he served
as the team's assistant captain and received the Dr. James M.
Stewart Memorial Award which is the Coaches Award given for
commitment, leadership and performance.
