Atlantic Hockey Player of the Month

  Dain Prewitt - Bentley

Senior, Forward, Westminster, Colo.

Prewitt was tied for the team lead in goals, assists and points during the month. He also led the team with three game-winning goals. His third period goal broke a 3-3 tie and helped Bentley top Canisius 4-3 on Jan. 10. He had two game-winners in the span of five days, scoring third period goals to help Bentley beat AIC 6-4 on Jan. 20 and Sacred Heart 4-3 on Jan. 24. He’s tied for fourth in Division I in game-winning goals with four. His four points (two goals, two assists) against AIC on Jan. 20 tied a career high.

Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Month

  Ryan Zapolski - Mercyhurst

Sophomore, Goaltender, Erie, Pa.

Finished the month of January with a 5-1-1 record…Compiled a 1.54 goals against average and a .952 save percentage…Made 217 saves on 228 shots…Stopped a month-high 43 saves in a 3-2 OT win against then-No. 19 Air Force…Recorded first career shutout with 21 saves against Sacred Heart…Netted his second shutout in a 6-0 win over Connecticut with 28 saves.

Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Month

  Kyle Rank - Bentley

Freshman, Goaltender, Islip, N.Y.


Rank closed out January on a five game-winning streak and went 5-1 during the month. Four of his wins came on the road. He’s lowered his GAA to 2.70, fourth in Atlantic Hockey and best among freshmen, and his .910 save percentage is fifth and best among freshmen as well. He led Bentley to its biggest win in program history by making 35 saves in a 3-1 win over Maine on Jan. 16.
