Air Force’s Jacques Lamoureux named Second-Team AHCA/Reebok East All-American
USAFA, Colo. – Air Force sophomore center Jacques Lamoureux
was named to the American Hockey Coaches Association/Reebok East
All-American second team as and announced tonight at the NCAA
Frozen Four in Washington, D.C.
Lamoureux is the second player in Air Force hockey history to earn
AHCA/RBK All-American honors. Eric Ehn was a second-team East
All-American in 2007. Lamoureux’s selection marks the third
straight year that an Atlantic Hockey Association player, and a
service academy player, has earned All-American honors by the
coaches. Following Ehn, Army goaltender Josh Kassel was a
second-team selection in 2008.
Along with his selection to the coaches’ All-American team,
Lamoureux was also a first-team
InsideCollegeHockey.com (INCH) All-American, the Atlantic Hockey
Association player of the year, first-team all-AHA and a member of
the NCAA East Regional all-tournament team. He was also one of 10
finalists for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award.
Lamoureux, from Grand Forks, N.D., led the nation with 33 goals, 15
power-play goals and nine game-winning goals. He is second in the
nation with 1.29 points per game (33-20-53) and 53 points. In 28
league games, he led the Atlantic Hockey Association with 38
points, 23 goals, 12 power play goals and five game winners. He
finished the season strong as he tied his season high with four
points (2-2-4) in Air Force’s 8-1 win over Sacred Heart in
the AHA Quarterfinals to send the Falcons to the AHA Final Four. He
scored the first goal, and eventual game-winner, in the 2-0 win
over Mercyhurst in the AHA championship game, March 21. Six days
later, he scored AFA’s second goal in the 2-0 win over
third-ranked Michigan in the NCAA East Regional and was named to
the NCAA East Regional all-tournament team.
