WEST POINT, N.Y.  - Trevor Large, an assistant coach at American International College for the last two years and a graduate of Ferris State, has been added to the Army hockey staff, announced Athletic Director Kevin Anderson and head coach Brian Riley.

At West Point, Large joins a staff that includes Riley and associate head coach Rob Haberbusch.

"We are excited to have Trevor join our staff," said Riley who is beginning his fifth year. "He graduated from a great hockey school and knows the Atlantic Hockey Association and what great competition is offered. His enthusiasm and knowledge of the game will be a great benefit to our program."

Large played for four seasons with the Bulldogs in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and registered 33 points in 129 career games. The teams "Most Improved" player in 2001, he was a member of the 2003 regular season championship squad that made the first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance for the Bulldogs.

"I want to thank Gen. (Superintendent Franklin) Hagenbeck, Mr. Anderson and Coach Riley for this great opportunity," said Large. "I have always admired West Point and can't wait to work with these young men and do our part to help develop leaders of character."

Large was behind the bench last season at AIC when Army posted six wins against the Yellow Jackets, including a two-game sweep in the first round of the playoffs.

At Army, Large will play a large role in recruiting and will work with the forwards, in addition to practice plans.

Large and his wife Molly reside in Cold Spring, N.Y.

"The sense of pride within West Point is second to none and I feel honored to become a part of this storied tradition," said Large. "Coach Riley and his staff run a first-class program with a family atmosphere and I look forward to assisting in those efforts. This community has been extremely welcoming and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to coach the future leaders of this country here at West Point."
