Here is the tiebreaker for two or more teams:
1. Points head-to-head...2. Goal differential head-to-head...3.
Conference wins...4. Goal differential - conference games...5.
Goals allowed - conference games...6. Goals scored - conference
games.
If three or more teams are tied and all played the same number of
games against one another, you would use the tiebreaker top to
bottom as a mini-conference. If three or more team are tied and all
played an uneven amount of games, we will use the tiebreaker above,
but break the teams up into a mini-mini-conference. If three teams
are tied and one team played two games against the other two, while
the other two faced each other four times, we will break the teams
that played four times and run the tiebreaker to see who would win
that series. Then take the team that won that tiebreaker and pit
them against the team that they played twice to see who would
garner the higher seed. Then you take the final two teams and run
the tiebreaker again to see who gains the next highest seed.

Bentley: Bentley earned a split with Connecticut over the weekend
in a home-and-home series with each team protecting its home ice.
The Huskies captured the first game 4-1 behind four different goal
scorers, a power play and a shorthanded goal. The loss was
Bentley’s fifth straight. The Falcons bounced back on
Saturday with a 4-2 win. Bentley fell behind 1-0, but tied the game
in the first period on a goal by freshman Dan Koudys. Seniors
Brendan Harrison and Anders Olson scored second period goals, and
freshman Joe Campanelli put the Falcons up 4-2 late in the third
period after UConn made it a one-goal game. Sophomore Kyle Rank
made 19 saves for his eighth win of the season. Jamie Nudy, Aaron
Stonacek and Bobby Preece each had two assists in the game. Bentley
took the season series from UConn 3-1 with the win. Bentley is tied
for seventh with Holy Cross entering the final weekend, and can
finish anywhere from sixth to eighth place. The Falcons and
Crusaders meet this weekend in a home-and-home series after just
playing two weekends ago.
Canisius: Canisius took 3-of-4 points against AIC during the
weekend, playing to a 2-2 draw on Saturday before winning 5-3 on
Sunday. Canisius is now 13-9-4 in conference play and is tied with
Air Force for fourth in the Atlantic Hockey standings and one point
behind Mercyhurst for third. The Griffs will need to gain one point
on one of those teams to earn home ice for the Atlantic Hockey
quarterfinals. Senior Josh Heidinger recorded an assist on each of
Canisius’ first six goals of the weekend. The only goal that
he did not register an assist on was the team’s empty-net
goal with one second remaining on Sunday. The senior’s six
helpers give him 123 points for career, making him the
program’s Division I all-time leading scorer. Heidinger
passed the mark of 119 held by David Deeves (1998-2002). Heidinger
already owns the program’s career assists record and raised
his total to 89 helpers, 19 more than Deeves recorded. This season,
Heidinger has recorded 30 points on eight goals and 22 assists. He
has now recorded a point in a career-best seven-consecutive games,
totaling 13 helpers during the streak. Heidinger’s four
assists on Sunday also matched the program’s Division I
record, tying a record held by Chris Duggan, Joel Tarvudd, Deeves
plus teammates Jason Weeks and Cory Conacher. Heidinger along with
his classmates Vincent Amigone, Dave Cianfrini, Carl Hudson, Ryan
Klusendorf, Andrew Loewen, Peter MacDougall and Jason Weeks were
honored following Sunday’s game in a senior day ceremony. The
eight players have combined to play in 875 career games, recording
421 points, 161 goals, 260 assists and 2,429 saves. The eight have
combined to set or match 11 Canisius career records and 28 total
marks during their tenure. Cianfrini, Hudson and Loewen each played
a role in the Griffs’ victory on Senior Day. Cianfrini scored
an empty-net goal with one second left with Loewen registering his
first career assist on the score. Loewen also recorded 20 saves to
earn the victory. Hudson scored a power-play goal in the first
period to give Canisius a 2-0 lead. Hudson’s power-play goal
was his ninth of the season, tying the school record. Hudson
matched the record set by Deeves (1998-99). Hudson, who already
owns the career record with 29 extra-man goals, has scored 69.0
percent of his goals on the power play (29-42). Junior Cory
Conacher added two assists during the weekend. Conacher has now
posted 47 points, 20 goals and 27 helpers this season. He set the
program’s single-season record with his 27 assists,
surpassing the record of 26 held by Duggan (1998-99) and Heidinger
(2006-07). Conacher’s 47 points this season are just one
point shy of the record held by Duggan. It would also give Conacher
100 career points, making him the first junior to reach the mark in
the program’s Division I history. Canisius will play at RIT
next weekend. The two teams have not met this season and the Tigers
swept a pair of games in Buffalo last year. RIT holds an 8-4-0
advantage in the series since both teams moved to the Division
I.
Connecticut: After 10 days off, the Huskies returned to the ice
for a home-and-home series with Bentley on Friday. Three Huskies
recorded a multi-point effort via a goal and an assist. Justin
Hernandez, one of those Huskies scored the first goal of the night
for UConn early into the first period. Bentley was able to tie
things up at the halfway point, but before the end of the first,
Brad Cooper tallied the would-be gamewinner for UConn on a power
play goal at 19:28 to give UConn the lead entering the second
period. In the second, the Huskies continued to add to their lead
as Andrew Olson and Chris Waterstradt each notched their second
point of the night. Waterstradt’s goal came on a shorthanded
opportunity, the Huskies fourth shorthanded goal of the year as
UConn cruised to a 4-1 victory over the Falcons. On Saturday, UConn
finished out the second half of their home-and-home series on the
road at Bentley. The Huskies jumped out to an early lead for the
third straight game, but this time after Bentley tied the game up
in the first, they went on to score three-straight goals to enter
the final period of play with a two-goal advantage. UConn would not
be deterred though as Hernandez recorded his third point of the
weekend bringing the Huskies within one, but Bentley sealed the
victory with a power play goal at 15:27. Ten different Huskies
recorded a point on the weekend with four finishing the series with
a multi point effort. Garrett Bartus finished the weekend with a
2.53 GAA and a .868 save percentage in just over 118 minutes of
play.

while Saturday’s contest will be at the John A. Ryan Arena in
Watertown, Mass. The Crusaders just recently swept a home-and-home
series with Bentley on Feb. 12-13. Holy Cross is now tied with
Bentley for seventh place in the Atlantic Hockey standings with 22
points with just two games to go and is just one point behind Army
who is in sixth place with 23 points. The first six teams in the
standings automatically earn a spot in the Atlantic Hockey
Tournament quarterfinals, while seventh through 10th place play in
the Atlantic Hockey Tournament first round on March 6, to earn a
position in the quarterfinals. Army holds the tie-breaker over the
Crusaders as the two teams split the two-game regular season series
but Army outscored Holy Cross by a 7-6 margin which is the second
tie-breaker. The Black Knights take on AIC next week in a
home-and-home series. As of now the Crusaders hold the tie-break
over Bentley as Holy Cross has a 2-0-0 record versus the Falcons.
Sophomore Matt Celin has recorded one point in four straight games
with one goal and three assists. For the season he has one goal and
seven assists for eight points, while for his career he has seven
goals and 15 assists for 22 points. Holy Cross, who has only
averaged 2.3 goals scored per game this season, has scored 32 goals
over the last nine contests for a 3.6 goals per game average.

the team-lead with 10 goals. Freshman goalie Thomas Tysowsky has a
2.43 goals against average which is second in Atlantic Hockey and
his .912 save percentage is fifth. His 753 saves are ranked third
on the all-time Holy Cross Division I single-season saves list,
while his 10 wins are sixth. Out of the 20 Crusaders who have seen
game action in the last nine contests, 15 of them have scored a
goal and 18 of them have at least one point. Over the last nine
games Holy Cross has outscored its opponents, 32-29. The Crusaders
are 18-85 (.212) over the last 19 games while on the power play.
The Crusaders are 4-6-5 (.433) at home so far this season. Last
season Holy Cross went 7-8-2 (.471) at the HartCenter. Holy Cross
has a 298-189-33 (.605) all-time record at the HartCenter since it
started playing there in 1975-1976. The Crusaders have played in
seven overtime games this season with a 0-2-5 (.357) record in
those games. The five ties are tied for the third most ties in a
season at the school as the record is seven set in the 2007-2008
season. The most overtime games played in a single-season at Holy
Cross was last season when the Crusaders played 10 and went 2-3-5

front of a crowd of 2,009 at the HartCenter, The Crusaders held
“Pink The Rink” night. Holy Cross wore a special
edition pink jersey to show its support for breast cancer
awareness. The jerseys were auctioned off throughout the game as
they raised $8,070 with all the proceeds going to the
LevineCancerCenter in Worcester. A ceremonial puck drop featured
Holy Cross professors and breast cancer survivors Kathy Kiel
(Economics) and Helen Freear-Papio (Modern Languages and
Literature). Kevin Shea from WCTR-TV 3 was the MC for the event as
he went through the crowd during the game talking to fans and
keeping people up to date on the auction. Between the first and
second period the men’s hockey program honored David Joy
(Class of 1974) and his wife Michele for generously donating the
jerseys so all of the proceeds from the auction of the jerseys will
go to the LevineCancerCenter. Holy Cross coach Paul Pearl presented
David and Michele with a pink jersey of their own. Michele’s
sister and breast cancer survivor Mary Keenan was also honored at
the ceremony and given a pink jersey with her name on the back.
After the game each player personally handed the auction winners
their jerseys as Shea announced the winners. Holy Cross will host
the 2010 NCAA Men’s Hockey Division I Northeast Regional. The

Falcons on Friday, while the strong play of goaltender Jared
DeMichiel and a stout Tiger defense lifted RIT to a 3-0 shutout win
