Atlantic Hockey Player of the Month

 

Jacques Lamoureux - Air Force

Junior, Forward, Grand Forks, N.D.

Averaged 1.0 goals and 2.0 points per game during December … Scored the game-winner vs. AIC on Dec. 4 … A +6 in four games was the best on the team … Currently has a six-game scoring streak, the longest by any Falcon this season … Named the AHA Player of the Week as he scored six points in the AIC series (3-3-6) … Career high four points in the 5-3 win on Dec. 4 … Two points in the Mercyhurst series (1-1-2) … One assist on Friday and scored AFA’s only goal on Saturday.

Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Month

  Ryan Zapolski - Mercyhurst

Junior, Goaltender, Erie, Pa.

Accumulated a 3-0-1 record in the month of December…Made 135 saves on 140 shots...Registered a .967 save percentage and a 1.23 goals against average in the final month of the year…Recorded his sixth-career shutout and became the first Mercyhurst goalie in the Division I era to mark back-to-back shutouts with 21 saves in a 5-0 win over Connecticut…Followed that performance with 29 saves and one power-play goal allowed in a 3-1 win over the Huskies to sweep the series…Named AHA Goaltender of the Week for his efforts…Stopped a career-high 49 shots in a 3-3 tie at Air Force, marking his sixth 40-plus game of his career and third against the Falcons…Stopped 36 shots in a 3-1 victory over Air Force the next night.

Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Month

  Thomas Tysowsky - Holy Cross

Freshman, Goaltender, Amherst, N.Y.

Tysowsky started all three contests of the month as he recorded a 1.55 goals against average and a .937 save percentage. He stopped 74 of 79 shots. He made 24 saves and allowed one goal for a .960 save percentage as the Crusaders tied RIT, 1-1, on Dec. 4. Tysowsky then stopped 27 of 30 shots (.900 save percentage) as Holy Cross had a 3-2 overtime loss to RIT, on Dec. 5. On Dec. 10, he made 23 saves and allowed one goal for a .958 save percentage as the Crusaders tied No. 7 Quinnipiac, 1-1. For the season, Tysowsky leads the conference with a 2.24 goals against average and is third with a .914 save percentage.
