Atlantic Hockey Player of the Month

 

Cameron Burt - RIT

Sophomore, Forward, Detroit, Mich.

Burt led the Tigers to a 7-1 mark in February, recording 15 points (2-13-15) in eight games. He had six multiple-point efforts. Burt opened the month with three assists in a 5-2 win over Sacred Heart. The following afternoon, Burt dished out two assists. On Feb. 13, Burt recorded a career-high four assists in a 5-2 win at Army. Burt scored a power-play goal and added an assist in a 3-2 overtime win over Air Force on Feb. 19. On Feb. 26, Burt scored a goal and dished out two assists in an 8-0 win over Canisius. Burt leads RIT with 13 goals and is second with 23 assists and 36 points in 33 games this season.

Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Month

  Jared DeMichiel - RIT

Senior, Goaltender, Avon, Conn.

DeMichiel led RIT to a 7-1 mark and the AHA Regular Season title in February, recording a 1.91 goals against average, and .930 save percentage, with three shutouts (two alone, one shared). DeMichiel opened the month by stopping 28 shots in a 5-2 win over Sacred Heart. He posted his first shutout of the month on Feb. 12, stopping all 25 shots he faced in a 3-0 win over Army. Eight days later, DeMichiel made 27 saves in a 3-0 win over Air Force. On Feb. 26, DeMichiel stopped all 20 shots he faced in 50 minutes of work in an 8-0 win over Canisius. DeMichiel earned AHA Goaltender of the Week honors twice in February. He led the league in conference play with a 21-4-1 mark, 1.78 goals against average, .932 save percentage, and five solo shutouts. He also was part of two shared shutouts. Overall, DeMichiel is seventh nationally with a 2.11 goals against average. He is 21-9-1 and has a .920 save percentage.

Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Month

  Joe Campanelli - Bentley

Freshman, Forward, Pierrefonds, Quebec

Campanelli was Bentley's second leading scorer during January with a 2-6-8 line. Campanelli had a five-point weekend against Canisius on Jan. 8 and 9, scoring two goals and handing out three assists. In a 5-4 win on Jan. 8, he had a goal and two assists, including an assist on the game-winning goal. Campanelli was named the Atlantic Hockey co-Rookie of the Week three days later for the second time this season. He also had two assists in a 5-4 win over RIT on Jan. 30. Campanelli is tied for second in scoring among rookies in Atlantic Hockey at 6-13-19.
