Former Yellow Jacket Woodard Signs With Fort Wayne Komets

Fort Wayne, Ind. - Matt Woodard (St. Louis Park, Minn.), a recent graduate of American International College, has signed on to play for the Fort Wayne Komets of the International Hockey League (IHL) for the 2009-10 season. The Komets have captured the Turner Cup each of the past two seasons.

Woodard was a four-year standout on the blue line for the Yellow Jackets, totaling six goals and 23 assists for 29 points in his 133 games played. The four-time Atlantic Hockey all-Academic selection enjoyed his best offensive season during the 2006-07 campaign, scoring four goals with seven assists for 11 points.
