Atlantic Hockey Names Monthly Award Winners for March/April

Molson Player of the Month

 

Jacques Lamoureux - Air Force

Senior, Forward, Grand Forks, N.D.

Named the MVP of the AHA Tournament as he scored three goals in two games, including both game-winners, at the Final Four … In the semifinal win over Holy Cross, scored two goals in the third period to erase a 2-1 deficit as AFA won, 3-2 … In the championship win over RIT, scored the game’s only goal … Led Air Force to a sweep of Sacred Heart in the AHA Quarterfinals, March 11-12, as he scored three goals and one assist in the two games … Won the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award for his excellence in the classroom, community, character and competition … Ended the season as the national leader in power-play goals with 13 … Has led the nation in power-play goals in two of the last three years … Ended the season tied for 10th in the  nation with five game-winners … Ended his career ranked sixth in AFA history with 79 career goals in all games … Did so while playing just three seasons.

Molson Goaltender of the Month

 

Jason Torf - Air Force

Freshman, Goaltender, Hermosa Beach, Calif.

Named the goaltender on the AHA all-tournament team as he helped lead AFA to its fourth championship in the last five years … Recorded his first career shutout in the AHA Quarterfinals on March 12 vs. Sacred Heart … The 4-0 win sent Air Force to its fifth straight AHA Final Four … Made 16 saves in the game … Stopped 28 of 30 shots, including 11 in the third period, as Air Force beat Holy Cross in the AHA Semifinals … Second  career shutout came in the AHA Championship Game with a 1-0 win over RIT … Tied his career high with 40 saves in the game … Made 26 saves against the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, Yale, in the NCAA East Regional.

     

Molson Rookie of the Month

 

Shayne Stockton - Holy Cross

Freshman, Forward, Rochester, N.Y.

Stockton tied for second on the team with three goals and five points for the month of March. He scored the game-winner in the 7-3 game three Atlantic Hockey Tournament quarterfinal clinching victory over Canisius on March 13. For the season he recorded nine goals and 16 assists for 25 points. He ranked fourth on the team in points, was tied for fourth in assists and was fifth in goals.
