American International College
So. | F | Beausejour, Manitoba

Key Statistics: Adam Pleskach made quite an impact in his rookie season. His 15 goals represented nearly a quarter of the Yellow Jackets’ 69 tallies, and ranked sixth in Atlantic Hockey. The 15 tallies tied for first among league rookies, along with Eric Delong of Sacred Heart. His 25 points led the Yellow Jackets. He had four power-play tallies, one short-hander and one game-winner. Pleskach played four seasons with the Skelirk Steelers of the Manitoba junior league, posting 133 goals and 149 assists in 187 games. He led the Steelers in scoring in 2007-08 (52 G, 108 points) and 2008-09 (57 G, 112 points). He led the league in 2009 playoff scoring with 19 goals and 21 assists in 17 games, and was named MVP of the MJHL All-Star Game.

What He Does: Pleskach is not afraid to shoot from anywhere on the ice, and his tough-angle shots from the goallline extended caught many netminders by surprise. Pleskach is also adept at disguising his shot attempts. At 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, Pleskach is not particularly fast but he makes up for it with quick decision making. Pleskach plays both sides of the ice well, and will see plenty of action on the power play and penalty kill.

The Bigger Picture: Pleskach endeared himself to his teammates with his goal scoring and work ethic on the ice. AIC coach Gary Wright said it’s not often he heads into a season with a forward line firmly in place, but he has one with Pleskach, junior Nielsson Arcibal and senior Steve McLeod.

AIC coach Gary Wright on Pleskach: “Our expectation is he will continue to improve. He’s a very, very commited player.”
