AIC's McConnell Nets Game Winner in Overtime

Sophomore C.J. McConnell scored two goals including the game-winner just 1:37 into overtime lifting American International College to a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Bentley College this evening in an Atlantic Hockey Association contest. The win improves the Yellow Jackets, who have won two straight, to 2-9-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the league, while Bentley slips to 1-9-2 and 0-4-2 in conference.
McConnell, who has now scored in four straight games opened the contest with a goal six minutes into the contest. However, Bentley responded with two goals in a 17-second span to take the lead. Jeremy Chase and Brett Murphy notched tallies.
AIC tied the score in the third period on a powerplay goal by senior Guillaume Caron with 2:29 to play in regulation before McConnell’s game-winner in overtime.
Simon St. Pierre made 15 saves in the loss, while Frank Novello earns his second straight win stopping 31 shots. Novello has also stopped 23 straight extra-man advantages in a span of five games
